December Together NDG

"DECEMBER TOGETHER" PROJECT

Are you looking for something rewarding to do this holiday season? If so, December Together is for you!

The holiday season is always a more difficult time for our most vulnerable residents. This year, given the health situation and the cancellation of several activities, this period will be even more difficult. The NDG Community Council has therefore developed a project to try to compensate for this lack: "December Together".

In compliance with COVID conditions, we are proposing a partnership with local businesses to warm the hearts of hundreds of vulnerable NDG residents. From December 24 to January 1, staff and volunteers will ensure that no one feels alone by offering online entertainment, delivering hot meals to isolated residents or offering small surprises to passers-by such as hot chocolate. How can you get involved?

Volunteering is the best way to give back to your community. We are currently looking for volunteers who want to give a couple hours through the Holiday season. Whether you want to animate some online activity, deliver meals to residents, distribute hot chocolate on the street or simply help behind the scenes, we will be happy to welcome you in our holiday volunteer team. If you are interested, please fill out the questionnaire and a member of our team will get in touch with you.

You have questions? You can reach out to our volunteer coordinator for this project, Jing Bai, at jingbai@ndg.ca

PRIORITY SECTORS IN NDG

Image
Image
Despite NDG's reputation of being a well-off neighborhood, like many other neighborhoods, NDG has major social and economic disparities. In addition to several small pockets of poverty, based on numerous studies and our own observations, four sectors in NDG stand out, Saint-Raymond, Westhaven, Walkley-Fielding and Benny Farm- Sherbrooke Forest.
NDG Community Council is proud to have accompanied its partners and residents to conduct an in-depth study of the neighbourhood's built environment. For more information on the study's final report and recommendations, please click links below.
