Les Amis du Parc Meadowbrook

For close to 30 years, Les Amis du Parc Meadowbrook has been defending the Meadowbrook golf club from residential development. The group has thwarted three projects over the years and was instrumental in a zoning change that now protects this 57-hectare green space from any further development. The area is known for its old trees and its brook, a section of the historic St. Pierre River that used to run from Mount Royal all the way down to Verdun. Les Amis would like to see the golf course become a regional nature park accessible to all.
Les Amis is working with the NDG Community Council and many local environmental groups to organize a local green fair and establish an environmental committee in NDG.
